Supreme Student Council-SLSU Main Campus organizes Bigay Puso outreach program

The Supreme Student Council of Southern Leyte State University Main Campus recently organized an outreach activity titled “Bigay Puso: Giving Love through Passion and Arts.”

The event took place on May 27, 2023, in Brgy. Consolacion, Sogod, Southern Leyte, and aimed to bring joy to the children residing in the barangay.

Children from the local community, accompanied by their guardians, attended the event. Spearheaded by the Supreme Student Council officers, the initiative aimed to share love and blessings with the residents of Brgy. Consolacion while showcasing the talents of the university’s student leaders.

One of the primary objectives of the event was to raise funds through donations and solicitations. Generous donors came forward willingly, contributing to the cause and sharing their blessings. The funds collected were dedicated to purchasing school supplies and materials, which would then be distributed among selected student residents of Brgy. Consolacion.

The “Bigay Puso” event served a dual purpose, combining acts of charity and the cultivation of artistic talent. Through various activities and workshops, the student leaders imparted their skills and knowledge to the children of the barangay. By doing so, the event aimed to inspire and encourage the young residents to explore their own creative potential.

The Supreme Student Council expressed their heartfelt gratitude to all those who supported the event, with special mention given to Skeenlife and RL Appliances for their valuable contributions. Their support played a crucial role in making the event a success. The presence of the SLSU-ROTC was also recognized, as their services ensured the smooth execution of the event.

The “Bigay Puso: Giving Love through Passion and Arts” event brought together the spirit of compassion and the power of art, creating a memorable experience for both the student leaders and the children of Brgy. Consolacion. Through their collective efforts, the Supreme Student Council of Southern Leyte State University Main Campus demonstrated their commitment to uplifting local communities and fostering a culture of generosity and creativity.

As the event concluded, the positive impact it had on both the organizers and the attendees will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression.
