The Supreme Student Council of Southern Leyte State University-Main Campus (SLSU-MC) held its 2nd General Student Assembly (GSA) for the Academic Year 2024-2025 today, February 5, at the Multi-Purpose Court (MPC).
The event brought together students, faculty, and administrators to discuss various student-related topics, including teenage pregnancy, the search for the new set of SSC officers, new election policies, financial reports, and the upcoming Charter Day activities of SLSU.
Mr. Maximo Martillana Jr., Supreme Student Council (SSC) adviser, delivered a welcoming speech emphasizing the importance of unity and student involvement in university activities.
Ma’am Maria Emelee A. Bascug, RN, MAN, Director of the Community Welfare Training Service (CWTS), discussed the issue of teenage pregnancy in line with the Month of February. She highlighted the negative consequences of engaging in pre-marital sex and urged students to resist temptations at an early age.
Meanwhile, Juana Amplayo, Supreme Student Council (SSC) President, introduced the new election policies, outlined the guidelines for the election process, and explained the procedures for the filing of candidacy in the upcoming 2025 SSC election, scheduled on April 16, 2025.
