ICYMI| Students of Southern Leyte State University – Main Campus (SLSU-MC) attended the General Assembly, yesterday, March 22.
The students of Southern Leyte State University-Main Campus attended the one-day General Assembly on March 22, 2023 focusing on the proposed increase of miscellaneous fees and income generating projects, which included the business ventures like Food Mart/Avenue, Kingfisher Printing Services, and SLSU Garments Industry that will be soon realized inside the campus. With the students approval, the implementation of proposals will take effect in the next academic year of 2023-2024.
Thanja Janna Niña Mercado, President of Philippine Association of Food Technlogists (PAFT)-SLSU Chapter, who represented SLSU during the UMAP DISCOVERY CAMP 2023: The Globe (Global Bound & Exchange: Discover Indonesia) re-echoed and shared her experiences and insights on the various activities of the program that immersed on the culture and ways of Indonesia. At the end of her presentation, Mercado emphasized the difference in norms of Indonesia and the Philippines.
Additionally, presentation on Cultural Exchange Program for Undergraduate Students for Tra Vinh University, Vietnam and SLSU, that will commence during summer was presented and said to be looking for interested aspiring students who will participate in the said program.
Continuing the assembly, with the objective of upgrading the SLSU Learning Management System, Francis Rey F. Padao, University Information Systems and Analytics (UISA) Director/Project Team Leader, oriented the students on the use of Odilo Digital Library and access to the university’s internet connection. Dr. Baclayon also discussed the important notes and shared some valuable information in using and accessing the ODILO Digital Library.
The various topics and presentations tackled in the assembly mainly emphasized on the internationalization and digitalization of SLSU in the coming years.
The meeting was called by the University Library, in coordination with the Campus Headliner and the Supreme Students Council-Main Campus.
