Southern Leyte State University-Main Campus simultaneously conducted two activities, Hybrid Student Assembly for the Faculty Evaluation Orientation and Symposium on Mental Health Awareness and Financial Literacy, today, November 13, at the Multi-Purpose Court (MPC).

The orientation on faculty evaluation was projected virtually where Mr. Nestnie Honrada, Head of Information System, discussed the information on the faculty evaluation which can be accessed through the Student Information System (SIS). He also added how answering the evaluation is necessary before the students can view their grades and other information in the system, and ensuring that data protection is strictly abided.

Mr. Rey G. Comabig, Head of Student Development Services, hosted the virtual orientation. Dr. Annabelle M. Hufalar, Vice President for Student Auxiliary Services, and Dr. Constantino G. Medilo, Jr., Vice President for Academic Affairs, attended the said activity where both gave their messages to the students.

After the orientation ended, the symposium started with Mr. John Willies T. Padecio, RPm. He discussed Mental Health Awareness highlighting the connection between Mental and Physical Health as well as how to break the stigma by being open to mental health discussions. Mr. Padecio concluded his topic discussion by encouraging those who suffer from mental illness to seek help and be open about their situation.

Moving ahead, the Branch Head of Producers Bank Sogod Branch, Mr. Jeff S. Cornejo, explained the significance of financial literacy not only limiting to students, educators, and staff but to each and every individual. He also elaborated the importance and benefits of saving money for future use. The Producers Bank also gave different prices to students who actively participated in their “Bring Me” activity.

Ma’am Maria Emelee A. Bascug, Nurse II, discussed the Awareness on Implementation of No Smoking Policy by LGU-Sogod. She reminded students to abide the policy implemented by the LGU-Sogod to prevent any violations.

The Symposium ended with closing remarks from the Director of Student Affairs and Services, Ms. Jessa Laarni B. Espinas, expressing her gratitude to the resource speakers and attendees.
