The SLSU Likha Association, in partnership with the SLSU Supreme Student Council (SLSU-SSC), successfully hosted its inaugural whole-day innovation workshop, Project Think, on March 27, 2025, at the SLSU Multi-Purpose Court (SLSU-MPC). The project aimed to cultivate innovative thinking and problem-solving skills among participants, with the theme “Cultivating Mindset through Innovative Thinking and Engaging Challenges.”

Christian T. Banez, founder of the LIKHA Association, delivered a warm welcome address, emphasizing the workshop’s objective of fostering creative thinking and innovation. Juana Marie Amplayo, SSC president and co-founder of the LIKHA Association, presented an insightful discussion on the essence of design thinking, providing participants with a solid foundation for the workshop.

A panel of esteemed experts, comprising Sir Jason Saludes, Mr. Pet Anthony Pascual, Engr. Khesiya Mae Manlangit, Engr. Jerome Bongato, and Sir Nestnie Honrada provided guidance and support to participants in various areas, including learning and education, food and agribusiness, environment, transportation and logistics, and finance.

Participating groups worked collaboratively on innovative projects, seeking valuable insights and feedback from their assigned experts.

Dr. Frances Ann Sy, Vice President for Research Development and Extension, delivered an inspiring message encouraging participants to continue exploring innovative solutions. The innovators then presented their inventive outputs within a five-minute time frame, showcasing their creative thinking and problem-solving skills.

The winners in each category were announced as follows:

Food and Agribusiness: PAFT
Finance: ICTS
Learning and Education: EdTech Innovators
Transportation and Logistics: Nexus CORP
Environment: PSME SLSU.
Engr. Khesiya Mae Manlangit delivered the closing remarks, highlighting the workshop’s success and the promising future of innovation within the community.
