It has been 2 years since the pandemic averted us from doing events like this and now King Fishers is finally back on track.
A parade was conducted before the opening ceremony which later on started with a prayer, singing of national anthem and SLSU hymn led by the University’s Glee Club. A pleasing welcome address was given by the VPSAS, Dr. Juanita Costillas. Afterwards, The Hudyaka Performing Arts Guild presented an astounding performance together with the escorts and muses of the four teams namely Flaming Sparrows, Great Griffins, Herculean Dragons, and Fierce Phoenix. Subsequently, the opening was officially declared by the University President, Dr. Prose Ivy G. Yepes. To officially begin the said intramural, the friendship urn was lighted by National SCUAA Player, Jason Jayagan.
As the urn was lit in flame, the first competition began. Four teams showed their extravagant mass dance performances but only one team won their way for the gold and that team is the Flaming Sparrows. The Herculean Dragons won the second place, Great Griffin; third place, and Fierce Phoenix; fourth place. In the end, golds and ranks are just consolidation. The real prize lies in the sweat, dedication and effort exerted all throughout the performance.
