With the R8 SCUAA Meet 2023 just around the corner, the University Games sprung again last October 2-3, 2023, held at the Southern Leyte State University (SLSU)-Main Campus grounds.

The University Games is a yearly university-wide event that features the chosen student-athletes of the six campuses of SLSU: Main Campus, Bontoc Campus, Tomas Oppus Campus, San Juan Campus, HInunangan Campus, and Maasin Campus. The participants of each campus will compete in different sporting events and competitions. Winners of the U-Games will be the candidates representing the whole SLSU in the new season of the SCUAA Meet.

Although the U-Games is a competition mainly battled by the Mighty Kingfishers from the different campuses, the goal is to have a striking impression that the SLSU is a united university.

This year’s University Games anchored on the theme, “Elevate Together: Fostering Camaraderie, Igniting Ambition, and Championing Excellence through Sports.”

The theme circles how the SLSU-Main Campus and its satellite campuses can soar higher despite having branched out from far places. Through the University Games, sports have reforged the solidarity of SLSU and will continue in the years to come. The bonds created by the players, coaches, student leaders, and staff will serve as how SLSU emphasizes harmony in all its institutions.
