SLSU conducts HIV and AIDS Awareness

In line with the Month of Feb-ibig, Southern Leyte State University (SLSU)- Main Campus, with the active participation of the Supreme Student Council (SSC) and Rural Health Unit (RHU) Sogod, conducted an HIV and AIDS Awareness, today, February 14, 2024, at the Multi-purpose Court.

Ms. Janet Jo, RMT, of RHU Sogod started the topic with her presentation on HIV/AIDS Awareness. The discussion focused on how to prevent and control the spread of HIV/AIDS, the proper use of contraceptives, and other methods in mitigating sexual-related infections especially on youths.

The NSTP CWTS Coordinator, Ma’am Ma. Emelee Bascug, also talked about Teenage Pregnancy and highlighting the importance of preventing the worrying continuous increase of teenage pregnancy cases within and the neighbouring municipality.

Ma’am Nenita V. Flores, Head of the Student Welfare Services and Guidance Counselor, discussed the concept of “True Love Waits” where she emphasized the importance of loving and valuing one’s self first in this Month of Love.

Mr. Rey G. Comabig, Head of Student Development Services, ended the program with his closing remarks.
