Southern Leyte State University hosting the State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (SCUAA) Meet 2022 on November 28-December 2, 2022 at the university grounds bearing the theme, “Bayanihan Through Sports.”

 The parade, lighting of the friendship urn by palarong pambansa athletes, and raising of the flags of the state universities and colleges the by sports directors highlighted the opening program.

The said event was participated by the 11 state universities and colleges in Region VIII- Eastern Visayas: Birilan Province State University (BiPSU); Leyte Normal University (LNU); Eartern Visayas State University (EVSU); Northwest Samar State University (NwSSU); University of the Philippines Visayas Tacloban College (UPVTC); University of Eastern Philippines (UEP); Samar State University (SSU); Eastern Samar State University (ESSU); Palompon Institute of Technology (PIT); Visayas State University (VSU); and Southern Leyte State University (SLSU). 

 “As we look forward to all activities that are already set as we celebrate the 36th edition of SCUAA Meet, I hope that everyone will all give their best and bring out the best of others. And as we compete, let us not forget what is more important; to have fun and make the most of opportunity to get to know one another even better and under more relaxing and enjoyable circumstances,” said the University President, Dr. Prose Ivy G. Yepes.
